Corrections Policy Advocacy
Access to postsecondary education can support successful reentry while also strengthening safety and opportunity within correctional systems. Restoring Pell Grant eligibility required a broad, bipartisan case for action.
The Advocacy
The Parzival Group supported coalition advocacy that connected correctional leadership, lived experience, and a pragmatic public-safety case for restoring Pell Grant access.
Policy Outcome
The coalition’s work contributed to the FAFSA Simplification Act, which restored Pell Grant eligibility for incarcerated students and took effect in July 2023.
